Iain Abernethy visited the W.S.K.A. at Luckley House School on Sunday January 9th and made an inspiring and thought provoking impact on the enthusiastic attendees.
The theme for the day was the bunkai of Unsu and Enpi / Wanshu. These kata contain very distinctive and unusual motions (spins, leaps, shuffles, etc) and it was fascinating to see Iain's take on those specific moves. Abernethy Sensei is a great asset to our club and will be visiting us again in July. Several of our instructors are also attending a residential course with Iain in October. These insights into the application of the techniques we regularly practise are crucial for our understanding on our karate journey together "Shoulder to Shoulder".
